A jellyfish bobbing underwater best describes Airali's sound. Lethal yet graceful, a set from the Italian DJ can float from aquatic wubs and slippery breaks to sharp, stinging techno in sudden, swift blends.
Now based in SF after years immersed in the London scene, Airali is a DJ and AI music researcher known for exploring dark and twisted electronic music. Oscillating between dense and airy soundscapes, potent percussion and hazy, heads-down rhythms, Airali's DJ sets dip into psychedelic palettes, often shaded with a dark hue. Conjuring cinematic atmospheres to more club-focused music, she melds flavours of techno, IDM, D'n'B, bass, experimental and broken beats into one swirling trip.
Airali helms a residency on Sutro FM, delving further into her unconventional collection and her love for unearthing connections between genres. Beyond the station, Airali's podcasts for platforms like NTS, FOLD, Ransom Note, Untitled 909, LYL and Fault Radio have allowed her to share her spiralling sounds with a global audience.
As a DJ, Airali has played in London-based clubs, including FOLD, Corsica Studios, Venue MOT, and The Glove That Fits, to name a few. In 2022, she completed a mini tour of Japan where she DJ'd at venues Circus, Spread and Forestlimit. More recently, Airali debuted in California, where she played in Oakland and San Francisco.
Determined to bring positive change to the dance music scene and pave the way forward to ensure fair representation across the board, Airali co-founded the B2B-led event series Co-Select in London, where she connected with many like-minded artists. Continuing to cultivate a more diverse and inclusive scene, she is a core member of Sisu collective and has joined the crew for showcases in clubs and festivals.
